Obituary for Albert Donald Willis, Jr.

Albert Willis, Jr. age 75, of Clear Lake, SD, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Deuel County Good Samaritan Society in Clear Lake, SD. Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ferney, SD. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Garden in Aberdeen, SD. Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake.

Albert Donald Willis, Jr. is the son of Albert, Sr. and Lucille (Brown) Willis born on November 23, 1945. Albert was in the Air Force from May 31, 1963 to December 30, 1965. He received his GED at the Vo-Tech school in Watertown, SD and went on to obtain a tool and die degree.
Albert married Rebecca Rakes on December 23, 1972. They had 4 beautiful children together: Charles, Karlia, Danita and Brenda. They started a small hog farm in Flandreau, SD and later moved to Groton, SD and built their hog farm. He always liked a nice yard and enjoyed spending time with family, friends, hunting and fishing. Albert and Rebecca divorced in 1993. He moved to Casper, WY in 1996 where he worked as an auto mechanic. When he retired, Albert moved to Clear Lake, SD to be closer to family.

Albert is survived by one son: Charles (Stacy) Willis of Clinton, MO; two daughters: Karlia (Jason) Dahl of Estelline, SD and Brenda (Eric) Pigors of Jamestown, ND; grandchildren: Cord (Jessica) Burns, Maci Dahl, Christina McMillon, Danita Dahl, Micheal McMillon, Grady Pigors, Marissa Manes and Gentry Pigors; four great-grandchildren: Aaron, Toby, Raelynn, Landen; one sister, Marilyn (Marvin) Stern of Conde, SD; one brother, Paul Willis, Casper, WY; two brothers-in-law: Lavern Skott and Neil Wagner; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lucille Willis; one daughter, Danita Jean Willis; two sisters: Donna Skott and Irene Wagner; two brothers: Billie Wills and Danny Willis; one great-grandson, Nolan Koppman; and one nephew, James “Jim” Leo Stern.
