Obituary for Carole Ann Jordan

Carole Jordan, age 79 of Ivanhoe, MN passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am on Tuesday, November 27th at the St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery near Wilno, MN. Houseman Funeral Home-Birk Chapel of Ivanhoe is entrusted with the arrangements.

Carole Ann Jordan was born on August 29, 1939 in Ivanhoe, MN to Victor and Pauline (Chlopkowiak) Knofczynski. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. Carole graduated from Ivanhoe High School in 1958. After graduation, she worked at Club 59 in Marshall as a waitress where she met her husband, Ray Jordan.
Carole and Ray were united in marriage on May 28, 1966 in a double wedding with her sister, Marcia and Arnold. Carole and Ray didn’t have any children and took pride in Marcia’s four daughters: Lisa, Jodi, Kelly and Sarah. She helped Ray on the farm in Vesta, from milking cows to planting in the spring and harvesting in the fall. She also worked as a waitress at the Vesta Café. In 1997, they built a new home in Vesta where she planted and watered many trees. After Ray passed away, Carole moved to Ivanhoe to be closer to family.

Carole enjoyed baking, cooking and canning. She enjoyed making homemade bread and buns. Her famous apple pies were brought to many family gatherings. She also enjoyed collecting jewelry, reading and spending time with her yorkie, Abby.

We said goodbye to a bright light of a soul, a strong, hardworking and humble woman, who was diagnosed with lung cancer three short weeks ago. Our love surrounded her as she took her journey home. We are so blessed we had one more Thanksgiving with Carole as it was her favorite time of year.

Grateful for having shared Carole’s life are her brothers James and Norbert Knoff, Ivanhoe, her sister, Marcia Kompelien “Peach”, Canby; her nieces: Lisa (Greg) Fridrich, College Station, TX, Jodi (Brian) Christensen, Slayton, Kelly (Travis) Whitesitt, Milbank, SD, Sarah (Tim) Anderson, Marshall and Michelle Knofczynski, Stewartville, MN; her nephew, Tony Knofczynski, Gillette, WY; great nieces and nephews: Austin (Hannah) Christensen, Adam and Shelby Christensen, Jordan, Emma and Madi “Sweet Pea” Mernaugh, Avery and Charlie Whitesitt, Cody and Tyler Fridrich.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents Victor and Pauline; her husband, Raymond and her brother Patrick.

Blessed be her memory. Go rest high on that mountain, your work on earth is done.
